The Clipse Performing at Sneaker Pimps Miami 09

The Clipse perform a few joints off their catalog at Sneaker Pimps 2009 in Miami, Florida.  Footage courtesy of The305.com

In case you haven’t downloaded it, make sure you grab our Clipse CD we dropped a couple of weeks back.  The CD has been receiving some great reviews from the people, and a part two will be done later in the year.  Enjoy the mixtape.

DJ Soul – 5/30 “Big L Tribute Mix”

Yesterday would have been the 35th birthday of the late great Harlem MC, Big L.  In light of this event, DJ Soul has put together a “tribute mix” of the fallen MC including some rare tracks and freestyles.  I cannot believe it’s been 10 years since his death, and I wish the people who own his music would release the album they have been talking about over the past few years.  Hopefully one day that project will come to light.  Grab this mix after the jump.  Enjoy.

Kanye West / Consequence / Common Throwback Video

Smack Tube has unleashed some Kanye footage that was recorded a few years back.  Performing live with Consequence, Kanye brings out Common as a special guest to spit a few bars.  The Chi Town OG spits a freestyle over the “Takeover” instrumental, and gives the crowd their moneys worth.  The audio quality is not too bad, but the bass kind of interfers with some of the audio.  Great video none the less, so enjoy!

Nipsey Hussle – Demo CD + New Track

New West Coast artist Nipsey Hussle has definitely made a name for himself over the last couple of months, and is releasing his “Bullets Aint Got No Name Vol.3″ mixtape very soon.  I have included Nipsey’s Demo CD that got him signed to Sony Epic, plus his brand new song “Strapped” produced by Johnny Shipes (Cinematic Music).  Enjoy.

UPDATE: I have added another Nipsey track courtesy of Rap Radar.

Here is a personal mixtape rip out of my Mixtape collection.  I’m bringing yall another DJ Kayslay mixtape, and you get two CDs worth of music on this one.  Twenty-three tracks on each CD, Kayslay brings you exclusive freestyles by rappers such as – Busta Rhymes, Saigon, Fat Joe & Tony Sunshine, Kool G Rap & Ma Barker, Keith Murray, Noreaga & Da Heaterz.  Stand out track of this mixtape has to be Michael Jackson’s “Rock Your World”; only Kayslay would play such a track on a Hip Hop mixtape and the hood would rock it.  No typed out track listing, but all the mp3s are tagged correctly.  Download links below.

Jay Rock On V.I.M.B.Y (Video)

Here is a brand new Jay Rock interview with V.I.M.B.Y (Video In My Back Yard) as he rolls around New York City.  Jay Rock talks about touring with The Game, and how people are recognizing his music.  I really like these new West Coast artists that are coming out today, and I wish them much success in the future.  Part two of this interview is coming soon.

Busta Rhymes Breaks Down the 5 Percent Nation

Interesting video with Busta Rhymes as he speaks about the 5 Percent Nation, and what it all means.  I didn’t know Busta Rhymes studied Islam since he was 12 years old.  A different, but good interview from the Flipmode General.  Enjoy.

Here is some behind the scenes footage of Mickey Factz and DotDaGenius (producer of Kid Cudi’s “Day N Nite”) creating Mickey’s latest single “Who’s Hotter?”.  Here at the Diggers Union, we definitely show support to Mickey as he and DJ Unexpected have history together.  DJ Unexpected was the first person to put Mickey Factz in a studio to record.  You can read more about that in our interview we conducted with Mickey a couple months back.  Thanks to 2DopeBoyz for the video.

With the release of Juelz Santana’s new single “Days of Our Lives”, I thought I would bring out this Kayslay mixtape that he hosted back in October of 2005.  You should already know what to expect with these Kayslay mixtapes; real hosting, and great music.  As a bonus I have included “Days of our Lives” off Juelz Santana’s new album Born To Lose, Built To Win which will be released soon.
