On Monday 50 Cent will be announcing a new release date for his new album Before I Self Destruct. If you do not know his album was leaked on the internet a couple of days back. DJ Ekin breaks down his interview with 50 below.

This two need to do an album together. Thank you to Krook for the video.

DJ Books Foxy Brown

DJ Books is back once again with two mixtapes this time around. I tell you Books just keeps hitting the net with mixtapes on a consistence basis. Hats off to him. Here is what he had to say about these projects:

Foxy Brown and Little Kim…Inga Marchand and Kimberly Jones both changed the face of Hip Hop and paved the way for the artistic expressions of Trina, Jacki-O, and now Nicki Manaj(they caught the Millie Jackson express co-driven by “Jigga” and “Big Poppa”). Now It may NOT be your cup of tea and some of you have already posted the Little Kim(and we definitely thank you). BUT..as a dj i know the power of some of these songs on that dance floor…and that, my friends, is what matters sometimes. Just ask those around-the-way girls who know “not tonite” by Kimberly Jones word for word…Salute.
P.S. don’t forget those “around-the-way” girls are in their late 20’s and up!

Download links and track listings for both projects are after the jump.

Rakim talks to Nick Huff for Hard Knock TV interview about his current relationship with Dr. Dre, why things didn’t work out for him and Dre at Aftermath, why the album “Oh. Hopefully in the future Rakim and Dre can get back in the studio and knock out a few joints. Rakim did say he did a couple of joints for the Detox album that we will hopefully see sometime in 2010.

Video: Stretch Armstrong Gots A Story To Tell

Walking back from a shooting in Harlem, we bumped into Stretch Armstrong, right in front of WCKR (!)
That’s the station where he started -in 1990- what would later become the “Stretch and Bobbito Show”, which many consider the best show ever.
The guy NORE used to call “the albino ostrige” recalls a number of great moments and a greater number of (then) unsigned rappers who blazed the show : cats like Jay-Z, Eminem, Big Pun, ODB, Big L, Biggie, and also a 16 y.o kid in shorts named Nasir…

This Is The Remix: T.R.O.Y Presents Remix Pack 4

Remix Pack 4

Dirt_Dog hits you over the head with another remix pack and this time he labels this one, “the soul assassins edition”. Here is what he had to say about it:

Of all the remix packs, this is one of my favorites… The Soul Assassins edition. I’ll confess that the second track was not taken from a cd single. But it was a Lighter Shade Of Brown CD5 that led me to their album that had this remix as a bonus track. I felt it was 100% necessary to include some other DJ Muggs work from 1992. And I couldn’t help but sneak in the U2 track as an obscure off-beat treat. Nothing mind-blowing, but a chance to hear something out of the hip-hop world.
